If you employ staff, have trainees or apprentices, or use subcontractors then you are legally required to have employers liability insurance.

Employees are defined by law as any person while working for you in connection with the business who is:

  • Under a contract of service or apprenticeship with you.
  • A person under a contract of service or apprenticeship with some other employer and who is hired to or borrowed by you.
  • A labour master or person supplied by him.
  • A person engaged by a labour only sub-contractor.
  • A self employed person performing work under a similar degree of control and direction by you as a person under a contract of service or apprenticeship with you.
  • A driver or operator of hired-in plant.
  • A trainee or person undergoing work experience.
  • A voluntary helper.

We are also able to offer you a number of optional Carpenters Insurance covers to include things such as your Tools, Plant, Contract Works, Personal Accident cover and Commercial Legal Expenses cover.

As a carpenter or joiner you may well work on site or at other people’s premises. No matter how careful you are you will no doubt be aware that it is always possible that you could have an accident. If this should occur then a claim may well follow and if there is property damage or especially if someone has been injured this claim could be large. It is therefore important that you ensure you have adequate Carpenters Insurance cover.

If you use our online Carpenters Insurance quote form and complete this you will be able to select the elements of cover that you require and obtain a price. You can even purchase the Carpenters Insurance online if you are satisfied with the premium and the cover that is provided.
