About the policy

Offering products by leading insurers from Ageas and AXA to Zenith and Zurich2, as well as our own car policy that’s underwritten at Lloyd’s, we’re committed to finding you competitive cover that suits your needs.

UK motorists are required by law to have valid car insurance and third-party cover is the minimum. But for full peace of mind, comprehensive insurance covers injury to others, theft and vandalism, as well as damage to your vehicle for those bumps and scrapes.

We’re not against price comparison websites but we know that price isn’t the only thing that matters when it comes to car insurance. There are other deciding factors: customer care and feedback, the claims service, the type and amount of cover, broker reputation and insurer rating, to name just a few.

When choosing a policy, it’s important to know what’s included and excluded. Our summary below provides information on our own car product, which is underwritten at Lloyd’s. No policy protects you against every scenario and it’s best to read our policy documents to understand the conditions and exclusions that apply.

What's covered

  • If you need emergency accommodation following an accident, we will pay up to £500 for your reasonable and necessary accommodation expenses
  • Like-for-like cover provided for up to 90 days while travelling in the European Union
  • Up to £500 for personal belongings in your car which increases to £1,000 around Christmas (1st December to 5th January inclusive)
  • Cover for child car seats
  • We will not reduce your No Claims Discount if you make a claim for vandalism away from your usual place of residence or work

What's not covered

  • Cover for imported cars or classic cars – we have specialist policies should your car fall into one of these groups
  • If you use your car for hire or reward
  • Loss or damage to any caravans or trailers
  • Damage to tyres from braking or road punctures

Optional extras

  • Key cover - provides cover for the costs to repair or replace keys attached to the fob we send you in the event of damage, theft or loss
  • Accidental death & personal accident - provides a benefit payment for death or certain bodily injuries while driving or travelling in the insured vehicle
  • Vehicle excess protection -we will reimburse you for the excess on your vehicle insurance policy following a claim on your vehicle insurance
  • Substitute vehicle and legal expenses - provides cover for the recovery of uninsured losses and motoring prosecution defence. If your insured vehicle is undriveable or has been written off as a result of an incident which is insured by your motor insurance policy, we will arrange to supply you a substitute vehicle
  • Motor breakdown (UK) - roadside assistance and recovery when your vehicle breaks down in the UK
