What does our static caravan insurance cover?

With our flexible cover, your static caravan is protected when you lend it out, leave it empty, rent it (for domestic use), or enjoy yourself with family and friends.

When choosing a policy, it’s important to know what’s included and excluded. Our summary below covers key information about what our static caravan insurance product covers. No policy protects you against every scenario and it’s best to read our policy documents to understand the conditions and exclusions that apply. Our static caravan policy has some important requirements1, and if you are unable to meet these or you have a request that doesn’t quite fit the mould, simply call us and we’ll be happy to help. It couldn’t be easier.

What’s covered

  • New for old cover if your caravan is up to 20 years of age
  • Cover for clothing, luggage and general household goods (up to £500 for any single item)
  • Accidental damage to building and contents
  • Static caravan rental insurance for renting your static out to other holidaymakers, or your family and friends
  • If you have made holiday arrangements to visit your static caravan but it is uninhabitable following a claim, we will pay the cost of hiring a similar static caravan for you up to a limit of £10,000
  • We will also pay for the loss of hiring charges up to £10,000 for bookings made prior to the damage to your caravan
  • Theft or accidental damage to outside furniture whilst the caravan is in use

What’s not covered

  • Damage or vandalism caused deliberately by you, your family or friends
  • Wear and tear, deterioration, corrosion, light damage or anything happening gradually
  • Loss or damage to any money or valuables
  • Mechanical or electrical breakdown or failure
  • Loss or damage caused by any pets

Optional extras

  • Key cover - Provides cover for the costs to repair or replace keys attached to the fob we send you in the event of damage, theft or loss
  • Leisure home legal expenses - Up to £50,000 cover for legal expenses incurred for contract disputes relating to letting our your property and with the site, protecting your property, disputes with solicitors accountants and surveyors, and access to legal and tax advice helplines

1Your static caravan must be kept on a registered caravan park.
You cannot live in your caravan all year round.
Your static caravan must be anchored at 4 points of the chassis’, don’t worry if it isn’t as you will have 21 days from the inception of your policy get it fitted.
If your caravan is unoccupied between 1st November and 15 March, the water supply must be turned off at the mains, all systems drained, or the central heating must be maintained at a minimum of 15C
