What does Lifesure’s static caravan insurance cover?

Take a look at how we could protect your holiday home with our handy summary below. Remember that no policy protects you against every scenario and it’s always best to read your policy documents to understand the conditions and exclusions that apply.

What’s covered

  • New-for-old cover if your caravan is up to 20 years of age
  • Cover for clothing, luggage and general household goods (up to £500 for any single item)
  • Accidental damage to building and contents
  • Cover included for renting your static out to other holidaymakers, or your family and friends
  • Cover for the loss of hiring charges up to £10,000, for bookings made prior to the damage to your caravan
  • Theft or accidental damage to outside furniture whilst the caravan is in use
  • The cost of hiring a similar static caravan for your break if yours is uninhabitable following a claim, up to a limit of £10,000

What’s not covered

  • Damage or vandalism caused deliberately by you, your family or friends
  • Wear and tear, deterioration, corrosion, light damage or anything happening gradually
  • Loss or damage to any money or valuables
  • Mechanical or electrical breakdown or failure
  • Loss or damage caused by any pets

1 Insured events against winter risks: Escape of water or oil from a fixed system but excluding damage occurring during the period 1st November to 15th March (both days inclusive) whilst the static caravan is unoccupied unless: i. the water supply has been turned off at the mains and all systems drained with the exception of sealed central heating systems that have been professionally fitted and contain antifreeze; OR ii. the central heating system is left to operate at a minimum temperature of 15°C; OR iii. the water pipes are fitted with an operational trace heating system approved to British Standard BS6351. Water freezing within domestic systems but excluding damage occurring during the period 1st November to 15th March (both days inclusive) whilst the static caravan is unoccupied unless either; a) the water supply has been turned off at the mains and all systems drained with the exception of sealed central heating systems that have been professionally fitted and contain antifreeze; OR b) the central heating system is left to operate at a minimum temperature of 15°C.

2 If the static caravan is damaged beyond economic repair and provided that: a) the static caravan is less than 20 (twenty) years old at the start of the period of insurance; and b) the sum insured represents the full new replacement cost of the static caravan we will pay the cost of replacing the static caravan with a brand new equivalent on the same park or site and, in addition, up to £10,000 toward the necessary cost of debris removal, delivery and re-siting.

3 Leisure home legal expenses and key cover underwritten by ARAG plc, a coverholder of the insurer, ARAG Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG Branch UK. Unless otherwise stated, all other cover is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK plc.

Your payment options

We believe in making insurance straight forward and easy for our customers. That’s why we have multiple payment options, so you can choose your preference: instalments, debit card, credit card, BACS or bank transfer.

Spreading the cost of your insurance can help make the cost more manageable, which is why we partner with Close Brothers Premium Finance to enable you to pay in regular instalments.

If you decide to pay by premium finance, the set-up process couldn't be easier as we arrange all of this while processing your policy. The credit agreement will be between yourself and Close Brothers Premium Finance and you will make regular instalments by Direct Debit to them to repay the cost of your insurance premium, plus interest and any charges, which we’ll let you know about in advance.

Flexible payment dates, online account management and simple credit agreement renewal make it easy to have the best protection possible.
