Throughout 2022 we have been celebrating 50 years of trading, and what a year it’s been!
For those who are not aware, the journey to modern day Lifesure began in 1972, when founder Colin Barnes started the business, which he ran from a small office in New Street, St Neots. His mission was to offer great service and insurance advice that was genuine, honest and had the customer’s best interests at heart. Sadly, Colin passed away in 2017, but his values of caring, commitment, family, integrity, and delight are still at the heart of everything we do for our customers.
Throughout the years, we’ve specialised in providing a range of carefully considered leisure insurance products; our experience in motorhome cover spans over 40 years and we’ve been protecting our park home customers for more than 30! We’ve forged solid relationships with a panel of leading UK insurer partners to bring you competitive, feature rich insurance solutions and provide you with peace of mind while you focus on the things you enjoy!
We’re pleased to have maintained Feefo platinum status, thanks to the feedback from our customers. We were delighted to discover that we have many longstanding customers including a caravan insurance customer who has been with us for 19 years and a 95-year-old gentleman who has insured his cars with us for almost 50 years!
We reached out to some of our loyal customers, who shared stories on living the park home lifestyle, and what makes being a motorhome owner so great - and we spoke to a customer who has insured his cars with Lifesure since the very beginning! These conversations inspired some beautiful commemorative artwork, created by St Neots based Artist, Georgina Westley. The artwork adorns our HQ walls, adding a much-welcomed splash of colour, and was also used to create some celebratory memorabilia including fridge magnets, lunch boxes and tea towels which we have shared with our customers.
There have also been lots of team events, organised by our newly appointed Care and Social Committee and since May we‘ve raised £3,339 for local charities! These have included:

- Support 4 Sunflowers
- Dreamdrops
- Camsight
In October, our Managing Director Paul Reid, and Head of Insurance, Nick Long, visited New Park a residential park home site in Bovey Tracey and enjoyed getting to know some of the residents. And in November we celebrated the successes and hard work of the team at our annual Lifesure awards evening.
The year has also been great for the team. We employed new members of staff across the business and collectively we’ve completed over 800 hours of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and four of our customer advisors passed their IF1 Exam!
As the year draws to a close and we reflect upon what has been a tremendous 12 months, we want to thank our customers and team for being part of the Lifesure journey. Thank you all - here’s to the next 50 years!
